Toddler Adventure to the Library

Our toddler room kiddos bundled up in their jackets and grabbed their umbrellas for a magical story session at the Glenroy Library! Despite a light drizzle, they learned how to use umbrellas, held hands and explored the nature around them, listened to the birds, and felt the gentle raindrops on their cheeks. The stories were a hit, and they loved exploring books and doing some fun worksheets! Afterward, they enjoyed some outdoor play on the swings and slides, plus a tasty snack break! Nature’s Little Artists

Our junior kinder children had a fantastic time collecting leaves, rocks, and other natural treasures for a creative pasting activity! Using natural materials not only sparks creativity but also helps children connect with nature, enhances their sensory experiences, and promotes environmental awareness. Plus, it’s a lot of fun!

Glenroy Library Hub Visit

Our 4-Year-Old Kinder children had an exciting adventure at the Glenroy Library Hub yesterday! They enjoyed a captivating story session that sparked their imaginations, followed by some creative coloring with worksheets. The fun didn’t stop there! They explored different books, played in the park, and enjoyed the nature around the sandpit, slides, and swings. After all that fun, they had some snacks and then headed back, full of wonderful memories! Excursions like these help broaden their horizons, foster a love for reading, and encourage social and physical development.

Senior Kinder Excursion Fun!

Last Monday, our Senior Kinder children enjoyed an exciting excursion! After a wonderful library session, they spent time at the park exploring nature, plantations, and outdoor play. Excursions like these give children the opportunity to: -Develop a love for books & reading-Explore the natural environment-Build curiosity and problem-solving skills-Strengthen social connections through group play-Foster physical health and wellbeing through outdoor activities It was a day full of learning, laughter, and discovery!

Celebrating Science Week in our Senior Kinder Room!

Children are naturally curious by birth, and Science Week is the perfect opportunity to nurture that curiosity! This week, our senior kinder children explored a variety of hands-on science experiments and activities – from planting seeds , to observing insects , to discovering the magic of cause and effect through simple experiments. Through these experiences, children are: -Developing problem-solving and critical thinking skills -Building observation and prediction abilities -Strengthening their connection to nature and the environment -Learning through exploration, curiosity, and discovery We love seeing their excitement and wonder as they investigate the world around them – because every little scientist starts with a question!

New at Our Centre – Lunch Mats

We’ve introduced personal lunch mats for our children in toddler room— not just to make mealtimes more fun, but to encourage a sense of ownership and self-help skills. Each mat has colourful fruit pictures , helping little learners recognise and name different fruits while enjoying their meals. Benefits: Here’s to learning one bite at a time!

Outdoor Fun for Our 4-Year Funded Kinder

Our 4-year funded children had a wonderful time enjoying free play activities in the sunshine! The perfect weather made it an ideal day to explore, create, and learn outdoors. At Small Friends, we set up a variety of engaging experiences for children to choose from and participate in — from painting tables and building blocks to magnetic tiles, home corner play, sandpit fun, climbing equipment, and our exciting activity wall. Our Junior Funded Kinder children are diving into the fascinating world of animals! From sea creatures to jungle animals and beloved pets, they are discovering it all through fun and engaging storybooks. To bring these stories to life, we’ve set up interactive activity corners where children can touch, feel, and explore — creating real, hands-on experiences to support their learning. Why we love learning through activities: It’s amazing to see their eyes light up as they connect what they read to what they touch and do!
