Today was an exciting day in our Kinder room as we welcomed Don for our very first sports incursion of the year! The children were absolutely thrilled to see all the colourful sports equipment he brought along – curiosity and excitement filled the room from the very start.
The session began with light stretching to warm up our growing bodies. The children reached up high, stretched their arms and legs, and twisted from side to side, preparing themselves for all the fun ahead.
Next, Don introduced colourful rings, and the creativity truly came alive! Some children used them as steering wheels, pretending to drive around, while others explored different movements and invented their own imaginative games. It was wonderful to see their confidence, coordination, and creativity shine through.
Sports incursions like these help develop gross motor skills, balance, teamwork, listening skills, and self-confidence — all while having so much fun!
